Little Bikers Awards

The Little Biker Awards, have been created to provide a fun, progressive and challenging programme, that will engage and reward children for their achievements and development. The balance bike levels start at Wheeler Award and progress through to Glider Pro Award! Your child will work towards each level whilst attending the Little Bikers term programme. With full support of the coach and parents, your child will have fun, gain skills beyond the bike.

Wheeler Award

The first step onto the awards programme, with the basics covered your child will receive their first Little Bikers award certificate, which can take price of place on the fridge!

Some of the skills and achievements to complete the award are:

  • Sitting on the Bike

  • Riding bike unsupported

  • mount and dismount bike

  • Picking bike up off the floor unsupported

Strider Award

Your child is really moving on the bike now and showing great confidence. Progressing with their control over speed, direction and bike handling.

Some of the skills and achievements to complete the award include:

  • Increase and decrease speed on request

  • Turn left and right

  • Ride over small objects unsupported

  • Stop and start on request

Glider Award

From striding to gliding is a big step in the journey to riding a bike. Once your child has the confidence to stride they will be encouraged to lift their feet off the ground and start to learn and understand how they can balance on only 2 wheels!

Some of the skills and achievements to complete the award include:

  • Stop and turn at speed

  • Lift Both feet from ground and glide

  • Ride with one hand

  • Ride in group

  • Ride backwards in straight line

Glider Pro Award

Gliding is second nature and your child is in full control of the balance bike and is aware of their surroundings. A balance bike pro, their bike is almost an extension of them!

Some of the skills and achievements to complete the award include:

  • Glide until bike stops

  • Turn whilst gliding

  • Glide over objects
